DEFINING A MAN

For the past four weeks, our Defining a Man series has been unpacking 1 Corinthians 16:13–14: "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all you do be done in love."

We started by seeing that real masculinity isn't dominance or bravado, but the humility, leadership, and self-sacrifice we see in Jesus. Then we learned that being watchful means guarding our hearts, protecting those who can't protect themselves, and recognizing the spiritual battle around us. In week 3, we saw that a man's strength is meant for others and comes from Jesus alone (and ladies, we saw how powerfully your words and respect strengthen the men in your life). This past Sunday, Matt walked through Daniel 3 and challenged men to stand firm rather than bow to the subtle idols of our culture, rejecting passivity and following Jesus. It was a powerful moment as men rose to the challenge of living uncommon lives, with the women around them praying over them.
